By Plane

If you are coming from a different state or country, the easiest way to reach Ivanhoe is to fly into Melbourne Airport (MEL), also known as Tullamarine Airport. From the airport, you can choose one of the following options:

  • Option 1: Take a Taxi or Rideshare Service - Taxis and rideshare services are available at Melbourne Airport. It is approximately a 30-40 minute drive to Ivanhoe, depending on traffic conditions.
  • Option 2: Public Transportation - From Melbourne Airport, take the SkyBus to Southern Cross Station. From there, you can either:
    • Option 2.1: Take a Train - Catch a train from Southern Cross Station to Ivanhoe Station. The journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes.
    • Option 2.2: Take a Tram and Train - Walk from Southern Cross Station to Bourke Street Mall and take tram route 86 towards Bundoora RMIT. Get off at the Heidelberg - Burgundy Street tram stop, and then walk to Heidelberg train station. Take a train from Heidelberg Station to Ivanhoe Station, which is just one stop away.

By Train

If you are already in Melbourne and prefer to travel by train, you can catch a train from various stations within Melbourne and arrive at Ivanhoe Station directly.

By Car

If you are driving to Ivanhoe, you can use a GPS or navigation app to reach your destination. Ivanhoe is approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Melbourne's central business district. You can take the Eastern Freeway (M3), exit at Burke Road, and then follow signs to Ivanhoe.

By Bus or Tram

Ivanhoe is also accessible by bus or tram from neighboring suburbs or Melbourne's central areas. The following public transportation options are available:

  • Bus: Various bus routes operate in and around Ivanhoe. You can check the official Public Transport Victoria website to find the most suitable bus route for your journey.
  • Tram: Tram route 48 operates between North Balwyn and Victoria Harbour Docklands, passing through Ivanhoe. You can board the tram at any designated tram stop along the route.
